Tips to Prepare for the Holidays

TIP #1: Make sure to plan on mailing or shipping your gifts in ample time to arrive for the holidays! Call our shipping center in Paoli, PA, at (610) 296-4180 for information on your specific needs.
TIP #2: Always use a sturdy box specifically designed for shipping. We have a variety of sizes in new, sturdy boxes for your convenience. Bring in what you'd like to mail or ship, and we'll help you pack it securely in the right box.
TIP #3: Wrap breakable items separately, in bubble wrap, and then surround all items with enough packaging peanuts so items will not jostle during shipment.
TIP #4: Plan to ship food that is perishable? Our shipping center in Paoli, PA suggests placing it in an airtight container or plastic bag, and sealing it before adding it to a gift box.
TIP #5: We recommend you place an extra mailing label inside your shipping box, in the event the outside label becomes damaged.
TIP #6: Use packaging tape to seal all seams of your shipping box. Packaging tape works and looks better than cellophane tape, duct tape, or masking tape.

Paper Surface
The Surface of paper affects its look, feel and printability. Paper can be smooth, or have a slight texture.
Paper Color
White is by the most popular for typical copying needs. However, off-white paper creates less glare, and might be a better choice for copying certain items. Slightly colored paper looks best for resumes and cover letters.
Paper Brightness
Paper Brightness is important because it affects readability. High brightness can cause eye strain, while low brightness can result in a blurring effect.
Paper Opacity
Opacity of paper is the degree to which printing is visible through the page, and depends on paper color, weight, and thickness. Opacity is also known as paper density. High opacity will minimizes the printing visibility through a page.
Paper Grain
The Grain of paper describes the direction (or alignment) of its fibers. When fibers are run parallel to the length of a sheet, the paper is "grain long". When fibers run parallel to the width of a sheet, the paper is "grain short". Paper grain affects paper strength.

Paper Thickness
Paper Thickness is measured in thousandths of an inch. Thickness is also known as point size, with .001 inch equaling one point.
Paper Dimensions
Copy paper is usually either 8.5 x 11, or 11 x 14.
Paper Quantity
Copy paper is usually sold in a "ream" or a "carton". A "ream" of paper is a package of 500 sheets. Cartons of paper contains a number of packages reams.
